Appear TV offers operators the most advanced head-end architectures in the marketplace for delivering analog and digital broadcast services to their subscribers.
Appear TV head-ends are designed with modularity to achieve the most flexible solution with the highest density. We offer multiple inputs (IP, ASI, DVB-S/S2, DVB-T and DVB-C); descrambling/scrambling (DVB & AES) as well as a variety of output options (IP, ASI, QAM, COFDM, FM Radio and analog TV).
The modularity and high flexibility of our head-ends make them suitable for multiple network architectures: streaming and multiplexing of digital content over IP based networks and conversion of digital content for analog networks (and distribution of TV and FM radio).
Appear TV is based in Oslo, Norway and is dedicated to designing reliable, revenue-generating and innovative solutions for operators looking to deliver real-time content to the home.
Latest Innovation
HD/SD SDI Encoder Appear TV’s new encoder solution, HD/SD SDI Encoder, is able to encode digital video data in all broadcast profiles from SD to Depending on the variant, the module can either encode, 4 SD, 2 HD or 2 HD/4 SD channels respectively. The new multi-format encoder module fits into the DC1x00, SC2x00 and MC3x00 and can be used in combination with any input and output modules available, thus eliminating the need for an external encoder unit.
SD/HD Transcoder Appear TV’s new transcoder solution, SD/HD transcoder, is able to transcode AVC to MPEG-2, MPEG-2 to MPEG-2, MPEG-2 to AVC, and AVC to AVC. The transcoder operates in four different encoder rate control modes: Constant Bit Rate (CBR), Variable Bit Rate (VBR), Capped Variable Bit Rate (CVBR), as well as Statistical Multiplexing (in future release). The new multi-format transcoder module fits into the DC1x00, SC2x00 and MC3x00 and can be used in combination with any input and output modules available, thus eliminating the need for an external transcoder unit.
